The result is an all-round exploration of one of the most prestigious European collections of modern and contemporary art, put together in 50 years by a couple of collectors who have dedicated their lives to this project. About 400 pieces now make up the collection of Ernst and Hildy Beyeler, who in 1997 decided to make it accessible to everyone with a very clear idea: to create an open and lively museum that could convey the passion for art to the widest possible audience. . Among secular trees and water lily ponds, the architectural jewel created by Renzo Piano at the foot of the Black Forest combines nature and culture in a world of light and beauty. Success was not long in coming: today the Fondation Beyeler is the most visited art museum in Switzerland and is considered one of the most beautiful in the world.
